FAQs

Is QuikEyes a fully web-based/SAAS product ?

Yes, QuikEyes has been a fully Web-Based/Software As A Service product since 2008. We were one of the first optometry products to move to fully SAAS product. The beauty of SAAS is it requires no local server and much less support by the end user. We set-up and host your unique QuikEyes site for you and take care of all the back-ups and deal with any server issues.

Where is my QuikEyes data stored?

We currently use Microsoft Azure as our cloud hosting provider. All QuikEyes data is stored on Azure’s HIPAA compliant cloud servers and we constantly monitor the data for efficiency and intrusion using our unique Azure portal. Our uptime with Azure has been 99.99% since moving to their product in 2020.

What if I need to quit QuikEyes and want my data ?

If you need to cancel your subscription you have 2 options to obtain your data. You can either put your data in “Read Only” format or we can export your data in a .csv file. “Read Only” format will allow you to access your unique QuikEyes site and view all your patient information. “Read Only” format requires a Data Storage subscription and the fees will be based on the amount of stored data (see fees in Product section). Data export will require a one-time fee and the cost depends on the amount of data you want exported to the .csv file.

How is QuikEyes tech support charged ?

QuikEyes tech support is charged for individual site support issues. System-wide issues that affect every site will not be charged to the end-user. Support issues will be charged at $165 per hour, billed in 15 minute increments (i.e. a support issue that takes 30 minutes will be billed at $82.50 to the end-user client. See Product page for a list of possible support issues that may be charged to QuikEyes users.

Is QuikEyes certified by any government program ?

QuikEyes Version 21 is currently not certified by any government entity and is listed as “Retired” on the CHPL (Certified Health Care Product List). QuikEyes was certified to the 2011 and 2014 requirements and still contains many of the required features of a certified product including ONC required security features. We are taking a wait and see approach on future certification based on what we think is a failed government certification system. Stay tuned.

Does QuikEyes charge a fee per doctor and per user ?

With the initial base subscription to QuikEyes (Version 21) ($199 per month) you are allowed one Full Time Equivalent (FTE) doctor user. QuikEyes considers a doctor working in the software at least 30 hours a week to be a FTE. Each extra FTE doctor will require an extra $99 per month fee. One user account is also allowed with the base subscription. Each extra user will require an extra $29 fee, no matter how many hours the user is working in the software.
